I started with the Vikings, and now I attempt to fix the Browns. I won't do every team, but any that have interesting capital in the draft catch my attention.
So, first off, I really have a hard time believing the board would fall like this. I mean I was able to get the Browns five first round talents in the First and Second Rounds. But let's work our way through why/how this would be incredible for the Browns.
At #1 I got the best Quarterback in the draft in Josh Rosen, most of the chatter of late has centered on Darnold and Allen but do not sleep on Rosen going to Cleveland. At #4 I took the most talented player in the draft, Quenton Nelson, he's going to be Josh's best friend. Together, these two form the base of Cleveland's offense for the next 10 years.
The second round is stuff really got wild. I really liked Sony Michel #33, the Kamara comparisons are a little outdated at this point, but this kid's got skills. Then I did a double take at #35 when I saw Leighton Vander Esch still available. The Browns run defense was one of the best last year, getting a superb level talent in Vander Esch is a great way to cover the edge in the run game allowing Myles Garrett more flexibility in rushing the passer. Jumping ahead a bit, but getting Josey Jewell at #175 as well was a great value. Jewell was a monster at Iowa, kid never missed tackles, he was a vacuum. Jewell and Vander Esch have the upside to be able to form a tandem like Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks. Back to the offense in what was another pleasant surprise in getting Dallas Goedert at #64. Flashed some great skills as Jackrabbit in Brookings, and should be a real threat with someone like Rosen throwing to him.
M.J. Stewart at #114 and Joe Ostman at #150 both make sense. They both had solid college careers and flashed some upside. At #188 I went with some guy named R.J. McIntosh out of Miami, hopefully he doesn't mind the cold.
Overall, thrilled with my first two rounds, and I am satisfied with my tail end. Up next? The New York Giants, look for that sometime this week.
